Recipe of the Month - April

Grandma's Play Clay

1 lb baking soda
1 cup corn starch
1 1/4 cup water
food coloring (optional)

In a saucepan, combine baking soda and corn starch; add water. Stir and cook over medium heat until thickened to mashed potato consistency. Transfer to a shallow dish and cover with plastic wrap. When cool, gently pat until smooth.

Dough can be dried and painted or refrigerated in a tightly covered container. When re-using, allow dough to come to room temperature before shaping. This has the same consistency as Play-Doh, but cleans up with water.

Spring Meadow Adventure

Recently the little peeps explored a meadow. Since we have been talking about all the changes that Spring brings, we wanted to see if we could see, touch, and smell the changes!

We discovered purple, pink, and white flowers; ladybugs, spiders, and tree bugs; mockingbirds, grackles, and sparrows; and we smelled rain, grass, and flowers.

So many signs of Spring!
